Montpellier
Another city based just off the south coast of France is Montpellier within Languedoc-Roussillon region. The region has a population of around 600,000 over a quarter of these people live in Montpellier.
The city is located on high ground 6 miles inland next to the river Lez.
The city has a very intimate and close feel because of its narrow streets and old buildings.
