Marseille
ABOUT
Marseille is located at the very south of France in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region based right on the coast and is the gateway to the country from the Mediterranean. Marseille is France’s second largest city for population and the third largest in area second only to Paris and Lyon and has a population of around 1.5 million.
Marseille has some wonderful beaches and coastakl walks and the climate is generally warm all year.
Because of its port it has attracted an extremely high amount of immigrants of the last 3 centuries from all over Africa and around the Mediterranean making the population of the area extremely diverse. It is though that around half the population of the city originated from another country by the end of the 18th century mainly from Italy, Spain and Greece.
