French Fashion
You may not think it but fashion has dominated French society since the seventeenth century and is one of their biggest industries. Paris is considered to be the fashion capital of the world together with London, New York and Milan and houses most of the big fashion house headquarters.
COUTURE
Haute couture which is French for high sewing refers to custom made clothing designed for a specific persons shape to fit their size them perfectly. The garments will be made of extremely high quality material and sewn with extreme attention to detail. The term Haute couture can be used only by firms that meet a particular standard in quality so is very expensive to purchase.
FASHION SHOWS
France has many of the worlds top fashion designers like Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior and Coco Chanel and probably the most famous the late Yves Saint Laurent.
French fashion week takes place twice a year and is currently located in the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris.
