The wonderful and beautiful region of Burgundy is actually located in France and Switzerland.
Burgundy is another area of France that is well known for its wine making, and is celebrated for both its red and white wines made from its famous Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc grapes. The top quality wines are only produced in small quantities which creates a high demand and price for can be very expensive.
The region is also famous for its food, boasting dishes such as coq au vin and beef bourguignon.
The landscape is delightful and makes for some fantastic walks. Local architecture is stunning and diverse and gives a real flavour of the old historical France with an influence of its Swiss neighbours over the border.
